Work on the various work packages within SorTex is in full swing - including "Work package 5: Business models for recycling", which is led by Erhvervsrådet Herning & Ikast-Brande. Here, the focus is on exploring different technological solutions for how textile residues can be reused or recycled and included in a circular economy. Right now, we are about to conduct a quantitative and qualitative study of market readiness among Danish and Swedish companies.
The study, spearheaded by Herning & Ikast-Brande Business Council, focuses on mapping existing and promising business models for recycling textile waste and identifying which textile fractions lack business models. The study will also uncover what stands in the way of companies developing new methods for recycling.
The study has both a quantitative and a qualitative aspect. The plan is to send out a questionnaire to 50 relevant companies in Denmark and Sweden. In addition, interviews will be conducted with 30 Danish and Swedish companies. Christian Bach Søndergaard, Business Consultant at Erhvervsrådet Herning & Ikast-Brande and partner in SorTex, explains that the current status is that the questionnaire has been prepared in Danish, Swedish and English and is in the process of being sent out to selected companies.
Stay tuned to this website, where the results of the tests and studies carried out in the SorTex project will be published regularly to ensure knowledge sharing and that as many stakeholders as possible benefit from the project's efforts.
