Project SorTex

How do we best collect textile waste?

One of the focus areas in SorTex is the collection of textile waste from citizens, which the municipalities in Denmark and Sweden are responsible for. The ambition of SorTex is to develop and test new and better ways of collecting textile waste so that the amount of collected textiles increases and a higher proportion can be reused and recycled.

This page is regularly updated with activities and results from the SorTex project, which deals with the collection of textile waste.

One of the results of SorTex will be a practical handbook with best practice methods for textile waste collection.

In SorTex, municipalities and organizations in Denmark and Sweden collaborate to analyze and test different ways of collecting textile waste from citizens - from communication to citizens to types of containers.

The ambition is to help municipalities to collect textile waste in a way that ensures that as much textile waste as possible is collected and is suitable for reuse and recycling.
